Lantern Rite is an Event in Genshin Impact that is no longer available and may not return in the future. Events are limited time challenges that can be comeleted by a player to obtain special rewards, some of which are exceptionally rare, such as the Crown of Insight. Events can also include story quests for new or existing Playable Characters, which may not be playable after the event duration has been completed. There are 6 different types of events in Genshin Impact, all of which require a different level of contribution from the player.
Genshin Impact Lantern Rite Event Information

Genshin Impact Lantern Rite Event Details
Eligibility:
• Adventure Rank 23 or above
• Complete Chapter I: Act I "Of the Land Amidst Monoliths"
• Complete Xiao's story quest "Alatus Chapter" (unlocks once "Of the Land Amidst Monoliths" is complete.)
The Lantern Rite event is divided into 4 sections: "All That Glitters," "Lantern Rite Tales," "Theater Mechanicus," and the "Xiao Market."
All That Glitters
During the Lantern Rite period, complete Xiao's story quest "Alatus Chapter"to unlock the "All That Glitters" quests.
The "All That Glitters" storyline is split into three acts: "The Origin of the Lanterns," "Currents Deep Beneath the Lanterns," and "Light Upon the Sea." Complete this storyline to obtain Primogems, Hero's Wit, Mora and other rewards.
Travelers can check their progress through the Lantern Rite event page or the Quest interface.
Lantern Rite Tales
After completing "The Origin of the Lanterns," Travelers will unlock "Lantern Rite Tales."
Travelers can accept requests from the citizenry in "Lantern Rite Tales." Each completed request awards Primogems, Mora, and Festive Fever.
"Lantern Rite Tales" is split into three parts. Collect Festive Fever and complete the relevant "All That Glitters" quests to unlock later parts of "Lantern Rite Tales" and the corresponding quests.
Travelers can check their progress through "Lantern Rite Tales" via the event page.
Festive Fever
During the event, Travelers can complete requests in "Lantern Rite Tales" to obtain Festive Fever.
Festive Fever has three stages: "We've Only Just Begun," "Guests Flock From Afar," and "Glow of a Thousand Lanterns."
Travelers can check their current cumulative total and stage of Festive Fever at the Lantern Rite event page.
Once Festive Fever reaches a certain amount, and the relevant "All That Glitters" quests have been completed, you can progress to the next stage of the Lantern Rite, unlocking new "Lantern Rite Tales" and "Theater Mechanicus" sections in the process.
Theater Mechanicus
Ruijin from Liyue Harbor has invented a new tabletop game known as "Theater Mechanicus." Travelers who complete "The Origin of the Lanterns" and "Liyue: Theater Mechanicus" can unlock the "Theater Mechanicus" challenge.
Travelers can check the relevant quests in the "Theater Mechanicus" event page. Each completed quest will award you will a certain number of Peace Talismans, which can then be used in the Xiao Market to exchange for rewards.
Travelers can go to Ruijin in Liyue Harbor to play the game. Each time you take part in Theater Mechanicus (regardless of whether you succeed in completing the challenge or not), you will have to expend 1 Xiao Lantern.
Travelers can attempt the challenge in either Single Player or Co-Op Mode, but Co-Op only supports two people at once.
The objective of Theater Mechanicus is to use various strategies to withstand monster attacks.
Each Stage will be divided up into several waves. During these waves, monsters will emerge from purple portals and follow predetermined paths to head towards the blue portals and thus escape the stage.
Travelers can construct various Mechanici at predetermined positions and use them to deal damage to monsters and prevent their ingress.
Monsters will not attack characters in a Stage, and characters cannot deal damage to monsters, gain Energy, or use Elemental Bursts. Instead, skillful use of Mechanici and the environment is key to victory in Theater Mechanicus.
The challenge shall be considered a success if the number of monsters that escape does not exceed that which is stated in the given requirements. If that number is exceeded, you will fail the challenge, and this will immediately end the Stage.
When the challenge ends, you will receive a certain number of Veneficus Sigils as a reward based on the finalization rules of that Stage. Veneficus Sigils can be used to unlock and upgrade Mechanici.
Progressing through the stages of Festive Fever unlocks new Stages, new Mechanici, higher upgrade levels, and increased difficulty levels.
Xiao Lantern
You will need Xiao Lanterns to complete "Lantern Rite Tales" requests and "Theater Mechanicus" challenges.
Complete "The Origin of the Lanterns" quest, and you will be able to learn the method of crafting Xiao Lanterns from Jingming of Liyue Harbor.
The following materials are needed to craft a Xiao Lantern:
- Lantern Fiber
- Wick Material
- Plaustrite Shard
After collecting enough ingredients, Travelers can go to Crafting Benches to construct Xiao Lanterns.
Stand by Me
Once Festive Fever has reached "Glow of a Thousand Lanterns," Travelers can use 1,000 Peace Talismans in "Stand by Me" to invite one of Liyue's 4-star character to join your Party.
Xiao Market
The Xiao Market will be divided into three segments that will open on the first, fifth and ninth day of the event respectively.
Travelers can use Peace Talismans in the Xiao Market to exchange for various rewards, including the namecard style "Celebration: Lantern-Light," Character Enhancement Materials, Hero's Wit, Mystic Enhancement Ore, Talent Level-Up Materials, the Crown of Insight, and more.
