Melt is an Elemental Reaction in Genshin Impact. Elemental Reactions are a combat mechanic in Genshin Impact. When a Playable Character inflicts an Enemy with an Element, the Enemy gains a decaying aura of that Element, which can be combined with a new compatible Elemental Aura to lead to an Elemental Reaction. This mechanic can also be used on players and objects.

Elemental Reactions can be triggered using the 7 Elements in Genshin Impact, Anemo (Wind), Geo (Earth), Electro (Lightning), Dendro (Nature), Hydro (Water), Pyro (Fire) and Cryo (Frost).

Melt Reaction Genshin Impact

Melt will increase the attack of the attack that triggers it, more so if the attack which triggers it is a Pyro attack.

Melt is one of the few reactions in the game which will not scale with Character level, Elemental Mastery, or any other stats. Thus, the damage of this reaction is fixed. If a Cryo attack triggers the reaction, its damage will be multiplied by 1.5x, and if a Pyro attack does instead, the damage will be doubled.

How to trigger Melt Example Genshin Impact

Melt can be activated by combining the Cryo aura with the Pyro aura or vice versa. This can be achieved by either applying both auras with the Playable Characters in your party, or by applying Pyro/Cryo to an Enemy who already has the complementary aura, such as a Cryo Slime/Pyro Slime.
