Freezes the target, immobilizing it and allowing for the follow up reaction Shatter.

Frozen is an Elemental Reaction in Genshin Impact. Elemental Reactions are a combat mechanic in Genshin Impact. When a Playable Character inflicts an Enemy with an Element, the Enemy gains a decaying aura of that Element, which can be combined with a new compatible Elemental Aura to lead to an Elemental Reaction. This mechanic can also be used on players and objects.

Elemental Reactions can be triggered using the 7 Elements in Genshin Impact, Anemo (Wind), Geo (Earth), Electro (Lightning), Dendro (Nature), Hydro (Water), Pyro (Fire) and Cryo (Frost).

Frozen Reaction Genshin Impact

Frozen will freeze the target, forcing a state of immobilisation in which the target cannot attack or move for a few seconds. Upon being hit by a blunt attack during this state, the target will be shattered.

Shatter will deal a flat Physical damage bonus, ignoring enemy defense.

Frozen and Shatter's damage will scale with Character level and Elemental Mastery, with the base damage of the reaction being multiplied by these variables. ATK, Crit rate, Crit DMG and any other stats besides CL and EM will not impact the damage of this reaction.

How to trigger Frozen Genshin Impact

Frozen can be activated by combining the Hydro aura with the Cryo aura or vice versa. This can be achieved by either applying both auras with the Playable Characters in your party, or by applying Cryo/Hydro to an Enemy who already has the complementary aura, such as a Hydro Slime/Cryo Slime.

Example: Diona uses her Elemental Skill Icy Paws to apply Cryo, then Mona applies her Elemental Skill Mirror Reflection of Doom to apply Hydro and trigger Freeze.
