Boss Type Weekly Boss

Andrius (Dominator of Wolves) is a Boss in Genshin Impact. Bosses are special enemies that are typically stronger than your average enemies and elite enemies. They usually have their own location or arena within the game. Bosses provide better rewards than normal enemies, but you will need to spend a certain amount of Original Resin to claim them. There are some bosses that won't require you to spend resin, as you will encounter some of them through the Archon Quests. Event Bosses also won't require you to spend any resin to claim its rewards.

When fighting bosses, it is important to be prepared and smart in choosing the right characters for the fight, some bosses are immune to certain elemental reactions, and it would be a waste if you were to pick your main DPS character to have the same elemental strength as the boss.

The noblest and greatest of souls, who watches over the lupical of Wolvendom.
When the wolfpack is imperiled, it will emerge in the form of a wolf and show forth its fangs and claws.

The wolves of Wolvendom are frightening phantoms to the people of Mondstadt:
A blurred shape flashing through the forest, a chilling howl in the indeterminate distance, the creeping sense of eyes constantly nailed on their backs...
Humans rarely have the opportunity to lock their eyes with a wolf, for this is the law Lupus Boreas laid down for its race.''

This fight is split into 3 phases. Phase 2 begins when the boss's HP reaches 50% or lower as shown below. Once Phase 2 begins, some changes to the arena will occur and players will start to take damage because of the arena edges will start to deal damage. Try to remain within the arena range from phase 2 onwards. A few of the boss attacks also are no longer present in phase 2, specifically the ones that spawn an ice flooring.

During this phase, always try to rotate behind the boss, and from here get a few hits in. Also keep in mind that during this phase, the attacks differ depending on your distance from the boss.

  • Phase 1: (100- 50% HP)
  • Phase 2: ( 50% or lower)
  • Phase 3: (20% lower)

Attacks & Counters

Attack Counter
Phase 1
Basic Swipe This is a basic melee attack move where the wolf swats its paw and deals damage. Do not stand too close to avoid this attack
360 Sweep Similar to the swipe, but this attack has a larger AoE. This attack can also be anticipated once you see an ice flooring radius form underneath the wolf boss. Once you see this form, back away from it. This same ice flooring is also featured in its Leap attack, another AoE action.
Dash Attack The wolf takes its stance and backs up in preparation for its dash before dashing forward and dealing damage if within its dash line. As you see this happening step to the side to avoid getting hit.
Leap AoE Keep an eye out for his abrupt stance change. This usually indicates that he is about to leap. Its landing will cause AoE damage. An Icy floor forms way before its landing so you can see around where the effect area will be. Step of out the radius as soon as this occurs.
Charge Attack This attack differs from the Dash attack because of its preparation. The boss circles around the arena. At this point it is invisible. If using a ranged character, keep your aim at it and prepare for its charge in the circle. You can expect the direction he will head as soon as it stops. Go ahead and release your attack in that direction because soon after, it will charge inwards.
Phase 2
Ice Shards A new brief animation will initiate phase 2, and soon there will be radial markers on the floor, so you know which areas to avoid. Icicles will start to rain on the indicated area so try not to linger around the marked circles on the ground. Should you find yourself within a marker, quickly dash out before the ice falls on you.
Tail Sweep This move can be anticipated as soon as the boss lifts its hind leg. Move out of the way before he performs his sweep.
Pounce Just before this attack, the boss usually centers itself towards your direction, then you will notice a color change. This will be followed quickly by a change in his stance as he stands on his hind legs in preparation for a pounce. Quickly dodge back to the side to avoid the attack before the pounce.
Ice Wave This move begins with a long sheet of ice. Step away from the sheet. As soon as the boss pounces on this ice floor, it will send a wave of ice down the floor. The attack area is quite narrow so step off the ice sheet and you won't take any damage.
Green Pounce As the tone shifts to green, the boss will prepare for another pounce, this time projecting a wave attack. These project as thin long clear walls in a number of different directions. To avoid damage, stand in between.
Phase 3
Wolves Attacks remain the same as previous phases with the addition of smaller wolf summons appearing within range. They will take a crouching position before their pounce so you will have time to dash away. It will be easy to miss them sometimes while paying attention to the main boss, but once you notice them appear, it should be easier to dodge their attacks.
